Gilstrap Brothers winery is located one mile up Antles Lane just off the Cove- La Grande Highway (Oregon Hwy. 237). Hours of operation vary seasonally so please call for current hours open to the public. We also offer flexible hours for out of area visitors wishing to tour the winery.
The winery building, located just above the Gilstrap Estate Vineyard, sits adjacent to a stream fed pond that has been a scenic attraction for the many wedding parties that have used our wedding gazebo and reception facility. As Gilstrap Brothers continues to grow, plans are underway for a major winery expansion including an outdoor patio seating area overlooking the vineyard. Come enjoy the ambiance of our scenic Gilstrap Brothers Winery.
We hope that you find our website easy to navigate, informative and interesting, with periodic feature articles by our winemakers, Ted and Warren Gilstrap. Check out Our Wines for a listing of wines currently available in our winery, and also online to the many states that we ship to directly. Many state laws have changed recently, opening up this prized direct shipping to wine enthusiasts. Please call the winery directly if in doubt as to your state's current shipping laws.
Occasionally, we offer winery specials, particularly over the holidays, so check out our Happenings section to look for advertised specials, as well as events ranging from holiday sales to food and wine pairing classes.
Under Wine Club, enthusiasts can join the Gilstrap Brothers Wine Club. Note the discount available to our many wine club members.
Wine purchases can be made through our online store. Some of our customers prefer to contact us by phone and discuss their wine selection and best shipping methods.
Gilstrap Brothers has evolved from early plantings in 1993 of many various wine grapes with first wine vintages in 1995. The early vineyard was tripled in size in 1996 to accommodate this growing "hobby out of control."
In the year 2000, the decision was made to formalize our efforts on a business level. Most of the vineyard was replanted with the Kuhlmann Foch grape which has become the main stay of our estate bottled Rio Grande Ronde, named after our beautiful Grande Ronde Valley. Additionally in the year 2000, Gilstrap Brothers contracted with growers to our north in the Columbia Valley for the fruit we have selected to produce the many wines that we have become known for.
Gilstrap Brothers Wine Company, LLC was formed in 2002 and our doors opened to the public in 2003 with our 2001 vintage wines. From these humble beginnings, Gilstrap Brothers is currently producing just over 1400 cases annually with plans for modest growth with our proposed facility expansion.
Whether you are visiting Gilstrap Brothers online, or at our beautiful winery setting, we welcome you and thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce our wines and facility to you.
Ted and Warren, the Gilstrap Brothers winemaking team.
